WLS 6060MAX
Wireless PA System
Description
Features
The AKG Acoustics Model WLS 6060 MAX wireless PA system is
built around an integrated wireless receiver, preamplifier/amplifier and
loudspeaker combination, all housed in a moderate size enclosure that
weighs only 26.5 lbs. (12 kg). The amplifier section has a peak power
rating of 60 watts, and the two-way loudspeaker system can produce
peak output levels of 114 dB at a reference distance of 1 meter. When
fully charged, the system will operate for 10 to 14 hours, depending on
the duty cycle. The system can be charged from the ac power line
while it is in full operational mode. It can be left in the charge mode
indefinitely with no adverse effects.
• Self-contained microphone,
preamp, and battery powered
public address system
• Works for 10 to 14 hours on
battery power
• Wireless microphone capability
for maximum mobility
• “Smart” signal processing for
controlled, distortionless, and
highly intelligible speech quality
• Multiple speaker units may be
stacked for greater coverage
• Ideal for seminars, exhibition
booth activity, as well as on-
stage solo instruments
The wireless input can be either by way of a handheld microphone
(choice of D 3800 WL/1, C 5900 WL/1, or C 535 WL/1 head units) or by
way of a bodypack, which can accommodate a variety of microphone
accessories as listed in the specifications section. The integral WMS60
wireless microphone system can accommodate up to 15 channels,
operating over the carrier frequency range from 182 to 205.7 MHz.
The built-in mixer independently accommodates three inputs:
microphone (wired, 12-volt phantom powering), microphone (wireless)
and music. There is a channel selector for wireless operation, a two-
band equalizer for matching the system’s loudspeaker to a specific
operating environment, and an automatic speech filter limiter with
subsonic filter for maintaining a consistent output level. A status LED
indicates when the WLS6060 is on a ready to operate. When the LED
turns red, the battery is low and the system must be plugged into the
ac power source for recharging. A constant yellow LED indicates the
battery is being charged, and as soon as the charging cycle is
completed the yellow LED will flash.
Additional WLS 6060 modules can be fed by the host module for
added output capability and extended coverage.
